Ear Candles
Candles / cones are used for removing wax from the ears and for various ear disorders. Using candles / cones
is generally more comfortable and less expensive than conventional ear cleaning where water is forced into
the ear canal. Candles / cones are considered a folk remedy. The practice of using candles / cones is actually an
ancient art from other countries such as China, Czechoslovakia and Italy.
Many people use candles / cones once a year or less, but others with chronic ear problems seem to benefit with
much more frequent treatments. Many report the procedure of candling to being a rather pleasant sensation.
Most often an improvement in hearing is reported after using candles / cones. It is advised to avoid flying,
getting water in the ears or being exposed to very loud noises for 24 hours after treatment. They should not be
used if the ear drum is perforated or if there are tubes in the ear.

Paraffin or Beeswax?
Paraffin is petroleum based. Some people believe that beeswax ear candles / cones are less irritating than the paraffin candles / cones and that there are healing qualities in beeswax that are not present in paraffin. Both work the same, so it is purely personal preference.

The burn time for one of our candles is approx. 15-20 minutes. Our paraffin candles are about 11" long and the beeswax candles are about 10" long.
